RIM BlackBerry Dakota Detailed and Pictured

Well, well what do we have here, why it’s a new smartphone from the Research In Motion stable known as the BlackBerry Dakota and an image of the device has just made its way onto the net waves along with some juicy specifications.

According to an article over on Engadget by  Laura June, the guys over at the Boy Genius Report have managed to post the first photo of the BlackBerry Dakota along with what specs will come with the device, and those specs are…

The BlackBerry Dakota is quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS, sports a 2.8 inch VGA capacitive touch screen, 5 mega pixel camera with flash and HD video recording, BlackBerry 6.1 OS, and 3G mobile hotspot.

Other specs include NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, proximity sensor, magnetometer, accelerometer, 768MB RAM and 4GB built in storage , and apparently the BlackBerry Dakota is just 10.5mm thick.

No word on just when the BlackBerry Dakota may make an appearance in the mobile space or what price the smartphone may command, but as soon as we hear anything we will of course pass it along.
