A round-up of deals available from mobile retailers online and on the high street
CARPHONE
The Google Nexus S is free on a Vodafone tariff costing 30.65 a month that gives away 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of monthly data. The phone is also available for 429.99 on prepay (subject to to a 10 top up) and SIM-free. Two of HTC’s smartphones are given a nudge on Vodafone tariffs. The Desire HD is available for 30.65 a month and comes with 600 minutes and unlimited texts whereas the Wildfire is available for 15.32 a month and has 100 minutes and 500 texts included in the package. There is also 50 off the BlackBerry Curve 8520 on prepay and it now costs 129.95.
PHONES 4U
There’s a VAT freeze on prepay phones at Phones 4U. These include the BlackBerry Curve 8520 for 129.95 on Orange and T-Mobile and the Nokia C3 for 59.95 and Samsung Tocco Lite for 44.95 (both on Vodafone). The Nokia C3 is now available for 10.21 a month on the Vodafone Your Plan 10 and O2 50 tariffs. The Vodafone plan comes with 100 minutes and 500 texts and the O2 offering includes 50 minutes and 3,000 texts.
O2
Vouchers to the value of 50 can be picked up to spend in a number of high street stores including M&S, Debenhams and Next when a contract is taken out on one of five phones – the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in purple for 25.53 a month, Nokia X6 and Samsung Wave 723 for 15.32 a month and Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 and LG Optimus GT540 for 10.21 a month. The sale also includes prepay, with over 45 knocked off the Nokia C3-01, now costing 112.33.
GO MOBILE
Up to six months free line rental is being offered on selected phones. Those included in the deal are the Nokia 6303 and Samsung Tocco Lite for 15.32 a month. Both come with T-Mobile price plans consisting of 300 minutes, 300 texts and a ‘flexible booster’.
ORANGE
There is 20 off a number of prepay phones including the Samsung Galaxy Apollo i5801 in black (now 129), LG Town GT350 (now 49), Samsung Genio Touch (now 39) and Sony Ericsson Spiro (now 29). Orange is also offering double monthly minutes with selected phones. The Nokia C3 now comes with 100 minutes for 15.32 a month, Nokia E5 with 200 minutes for 20.42 a month and the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and HTC 7 Mozart with 1,400 minutes for 33.19 a month.
FONEHOUSE
Customers can pick up a free Xbox 360 when they choose the HTC Wildfire on an 18 month T-Mobile contract costing 35.74 a month. That comes with 900 minutes, 500 texts and a ‘flexible booster’. Customers are also offered the chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Tab, simply by filling in a few personal details on an online application form.
VODAFONE
There’s a prepay sale on at Vodafone this month. The best deals include 100 being knocked off the Nokia X3-02 and Samsung Ch@t, with both now costing 80. Vodafone is also pushing the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for 25 a month excluding VAT with 500 minutes, 250 texts and 500MB of monthly data.
