Tom Alexander, chief executive of T-Mobile and Orange, says operators must improve their networks to cope with the new data revolution
“For the last two decades, billions have been spent on UK infrastructure.
“What customers have been served in that time has been broadly similar in terms of coverage, capacity and speed.
“Now, some operators have started to struggle and have pledged huge sums to patch up problems.
“We are about to switch on Britain’s first super-network.
“Smartphones will continue to be the device of choice.
:We will also see the electronic wallet and NFC devices enter the market.”
