During BlackBerry DevCon Asia, the vice president of Global Alliances and Developer Relations for Research In Motion, Tyler Lessard, at the General Session Keynote has announced the BlackBerry 6.1 Applications Platform for BlackBerry devices.
According to an article over on Crackberry by Kevin Michaluk, BlackBerry 6.1 builds upon BlackBerry 6 and will deliver new features to BlackBerry developers which include new APIs and tools.
Here’s what BlackBerry 6.1 brings….Open GL-ES2.0 – Windows API – Magnetometer/Digital compass APIs – Event based geo-tagging location APIs – Enhancement to barcode APIs and much more.
Lessard also confirmed that BlackBerry Developer Tools 6.1 will be available to download for developer soon as they wish devs to work with the tools before BlackBerry 6.1 releases sometime in the next couple of quarters.
