When the update for HTC Thunderbolt was released back in mid-June, it was considered a minor upgrade that has more installments on features, rather than addressing random resets and reboots. In short, it was a bit unexpected to begin with. It may have been a sugar coat offering against something that was supposed to be fixed in the first place. All this will change once again as HTC rolls out an upgrade on July 8 that will directly fix the booting issues, and adding other improvements.
Even though this may be a good pill to chew, some have expected that an OS upgrade with a Gingerbread flavor will be included. However, no Gingerbread still, but aside from the boot fix, it also includes better connectivity over mobile networks, a backup assistant, enhanced call history view, and others. Since the updates are edging up for an improved Thunderbolt, many still aspire that 2.3 will grace the phone pretty soon.
