T-Mobile has set pricing and availability on two of its most anticipated Android smartphones in the T-Mobile G2X and Sidekick 4G from LG and Samsung respectively.The G2X will be T-Mobile’s first dual-core Android smartphone with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, Android Froyo without additional customization and will also be pre-loaded with Nvidia’s Tegra Zone suite of games designed to take advantage of the Tegra 2 chipset.
The Sidekick 4G will be the first Sidekick since the integration of Danger into Microsoft and the discontinuation of the previous lineup of messaging oriented devices. Powered by Android Froyo with a customized user interface and manufactured by Samsung with the same Hummingbird processor as found in the Galaxy S, the Sidekick 4G also features a redesigned sliding display and retains the Sidekick’s iconic hardware and keyboard design, with a 4-inch capacitive touch display and microSD slot.
The LG T-Mobile G2X and Samsung Sidekick 4G will be launched on April 15th online and retail a week later on the 20th. pricing for the G2X is set at $249.99 after new 2 year agreement before an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $199.99 while the Sidekick 4G will be priced at $149.99 before the same aforementioned terms, bringing the total to $99.99.
