Motorola Droid Bionic Delayed Not Cancelled: Email Proof

We just want to give you a recap surrounding the Motorola Droid Bionic release, news of this smartphone being either delayed or cancelled has caused a little bit of a stir up and we can confirm what is happening via an email sent to us.

Yesterday we reported that the Droid Bionic could be cancelled in favour of the Targa and then we mentioned about a delay, well we know what is happening now thanks to an email and other online reports.

The email we received via Motorola says:

Hi Mark — I saw that you reported on DROID BIONIC today, so wanted to be sure you had our official statement should you be interested in updating your story. Thanks!

Motorola Mobility delivered the original DROID in 2009, an award winning device and one of the most successful smartphones launched. The company followed with the DROID X, DROID 2 Global, and DROID PRO. We believe the DROID BIONIC will have those same award winning features and will be one of the best 4G LTE devices on the market.

Motorola’s DROID BIONIC LTE smartphone, first announced at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show, will launch this summer with Verizon Wireless. Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience. This includes expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor. Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless are very excited about bringing the ‘new’ DROID BIONIC to market.

Engadget by way of Wall Street Journal also confirm that the Motorola Droid Bionic launch will be delayed until summer, the reason the smartphone has been delayed is because they are incorporating several enhancements for better consumer experience.

We got this email before many websites out there and we reported this yesterday, but we thought we should give you a recap of what is happening. Please do comment on the above.
