Android Movie Rentals Now Available In Market

During Google I/O 2011 at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco Google announced that movie rentals for Android devices have now come to the Android Market, available for smartphones, PC’s and tablets with a single click.

According to the guys of Engadget Movies are live in the Android Market as of right now, although when I checked the Android Market via my PC and smartphone Movies didn’t show up for me, maybe it’s because I’m in the UK I’m not sure.

Apparently Android movie rentals support for all Android 2.2 Froyo or above packing devices is expected to become available “in a couple of weeks,” and tablets that upgrade to Android 3.1 will have support bundled.

On the PC side of things apparently you get 30 days to view a movie with a 24-hour window once you begin viewing, and apparently on the price side of things HD movies have a price tag of $4.99.

So any of our Android readers going to be taking advantage of the new movie rentals on the Android Market?
