Verizon: One iPhone 5 model for all networks
Verizon has just revealed that the iPhone 5 will be a ‘world’ phone. Meaning, it’ll come with both GSM and CDMA bands, and will not be released as two variants. Given Verizon’s new chummy relationship with Apple, they maybe a more credible source of info regarding the upcoming iPhone, but don’t get too excited yet about an iPhone ‘world’ phone debuting this year. Based on everything we’ve been hearing lately, it’s an iPhone 4S which will be launched this 2011, not an iPhone 5. The iPhone 5, from the looks of it, is the one scheduled for next year. But hey, it’s not official yet, so who knows, Apple might surprise us this year.

Toronto District School Board lifting cellphone ban this September
Here’s good news for you students out there. The Toronto District School Board has decided to lift the ban on cellphone and PDA use in schools. Beginning this September, students use their mobile phones in school, but as far as in-classroom use goes, it’s still up to the “individual teachers to determine the use of personal electronic devices.” Outside the classroom, however, they can use their phones freely just as long as “it does not distract from student learning or school activities.”
