Well its quiet astounding to know that the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace has just surpassed the 10,000 app count. Within the last couple weeks, the app approval process has actually sped up from about 1000 per week to 1200 per week.
Windows Phone 7 met this 10,000 app milestone in only 4.5 months where as the iPhone took around 4.7 months (142 days) to reach 10,000 apps. However Android, on the other hand, took 11 months to reach 10,000 apps and Palm’s Web OS has only had 5,000 apps since its release 15 months ago.
The Blackberry App World (launched in April of 2009) now has about 20,000 apps, but 11,000 of them are eBooks and themes so I’m not sure if you want to count those. In other words, if the app count is your thing, Windows Phone 7 seems to be in the fast lane, though it still has some miles to go to catch up to iOS and Android.
